- John had constant hip pain and was ready for surgery.
- Ellen had severe back pain and was at her wits’ end trying to avoid surgery.
- Sara had migraine headaches for 15 years after back-to-back automobile accidents.
These people were just like you–in constant pain every day and made worse while working, exercising, or playing.
Like you, they had been to a myriad of specialists, therapists, chiropractors, acupuncturists–you name it– to find solutions to their pain.
Like you, after so many failed attempts, they doubted they would ever be pain free again.
Like them, you can be helped.
How I Help
The reason you continue to be in pain is your poor muscular function (anatomy) causes your joints to move poorly (biomechanics), which alters how you move (movement). These movement impairments not only cause pain but also reinforce the original muscle and joint issues. This is a chronic pain cycle.
A key player in this equation is your brain. It must be able to sense when your mechanics are wrong. The problem is that the “natural” movement habits you use every day are harmful to your body. So your brain doesn’t sense them as unnatural–just painful. Therefore you don’t understand what the problem really is–all you know is there is pain. Most people need to be taught what ideal movement is.
My obvious secret is that, of course these systems (anatomy, biomechanics, movement, and the brain) affect each other! The problem has been that most people don’t understand how. Addressing just one system, such as stretching a muscle, doesn’t teach the brain how to create better movement to reinforce that lengthened muscle. We will work together to create a better way of moving and fix your pain.
